Create a Good Hygiene Routine

Having good hygiene is important in our lives today for both social and health purposes. Although no-one gives you a handbook, personal hygiene habits are slowly developed from childhood, influenced by your parents and peers.   • Dental: Creating a good dental routine will not only help keep your teeth pearly white but it will also help prevent cavities and gum disease. A good dental routine should include brushing your teeth at least two times a day, for two minutes each time. You should also add regular flossing and rinsing with mouthwash.
  • Body: Keeping your body and face clean is an essential step in hygiene. Cleaning your body regularly helps remove bacteria that can cause skin irritations and body odor. When showering or bathing it’s best to start working from the top of your head and making your way down to the bottom of your feet (but skip your face). You should wash your face last after you finish cleaning everything else.
  • Hands: Yes, we know hands are a part of your body but we don't give them enough attention. Keeping them clean by regular washing is one of the best ways to prevent spreading bacteria and disease. You should (at the very least) wash your hands when returning home from an outing, before meals and after using the restroom.

Longer nails especially can raise the risk of spreading infections or disease. It’s important to keep them trimmed and clean.
