If you stop and think about it, our daily lives are so hectic that most of us probably spend little to no time in self-care. Most have a set routine to where we get up, get dressed, go to work, come home, run errands, maybe enjoy a little bit of quiet time after dinner and then we go to bed to just get ready to repeat the same thing all over again. There is nothing wrong with having a routine at all, but every once in awhile we need to break our routine to take a little more time for ourselves.
Now before you pack your bags and go rushing out the door to have a spa day there are few things you can do in the comfort of your own home to recreate the perfect spa day. If being social is one of things that helps you relax, make it even more fun and arrange the day with some of your best pals to get more out of your day.
Getting Organized For Your Spa Day
First things first, it is best before you start your spa day to get a little organized beforehand. Pick your day and stick to it. Make sure you set a good amount of time to relax and enjoy your day; we’re trying to relax and not rush, remember? After you have your time picked, decorate your spa area with what you need to relax. Get your bathrobe ready, pull out the super soft towels that you love and maybe light some candles. Basically make the space your “zen” place.
How to Treat Yourself from Head to Toe
Once your area is ready to go, it’s time to start unwinding. Focus on every part of your body and to keep track with what you’re doing, try working from head to toe. Try starting with your hair. Adding a hair mask can get some much needed oils, vitamins and moisture back into your hair. After your hair, start working on your face. Cleanse your face and follow up with a face mask of your choosing. Make sure to pick something that aims at what your face needs, like something gentle for sensitive skin or a mask with hyaluronic acid if your skin seems a little tired or dull. Soak, cleanse and exfoliate your skin. Giving your skin a good but gentle scrub can get the dead skin off your body and reveal new soft healthy skin. Don’t forget to give your hands and feet a little makeover too. Fixing dry skin on your hands and feet is easier than ever. Using booties or gloves to heal cracked hands and feet can instantly make your skin feel so much better and get some much needed moisture into your skin. Then follow up with a mani and pedi with your favorite shades.
Don’t Forget to Hydrate
Now that you have thoroughly cleansed, soaked and exfoliated, make sure you follow up with some much needed hydration and moisture. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and then moisturize your skin. Using a good moisturizer like Gloves In A Bottle shielding lotion on your skin after all the work you just did can help keep your skin happy and healthy.
