Are Your Eczema Treatment Products Endangering Your Health?

You may have read the recent news stories warning about prolonged use of skin whitening creams containing clobetasol, a powerful generic corticosteroid used in creams and ointments formulated to treat severe dry skin, psoriasis and eczema. I don’t know how many people use these skin whiteners, but I do know that it’s not unusual for eczema sufferers to use this type of medication for years on end, and they are at risk. Fortunately, there are other options: thousands of doctors are now recommending a shielding lotion as safe, effective eczema treatment.

The problems with clobetasol came to light when a woman who had been using one of the creams for seven years – labels advise not using them longer than 14 days without your doctor’s approval - fell ill.
